GRANTS TO ARTISTS

CAF is committed to supporting artists and promoting artistic process and expression, both for artists in Cuba Cuban Diaspora Artists and those of Cuban decent. CAF awards grants, scholarships, residencies, materials and resources to artists, in the literary, performing, and visual arts. CAF believes that direct support of artists promotes creative accomplishment and helps to bring together the Cuban and Cuban Diaspora communities through heightening awareness of and pride in Cuban cultural achievements. VISITING ARTISTS, STUDENTS, AND PROFESSIONAL PROGRAM

CAF has sponsored artists, art professionals, and students to visit the United States or Cuba to conduct training, specialized classes, and study. CAF believes that artists can promote creativity and renewed artistic output through exchanges with artists from Cuba to the United States and vice versa. Professionals and students gain valuable insights into each country's culture and people.

Cultural and Educational Interaction with Cuba and Cuban/Diaspora Communities
CAF continues to believe that cultural interaction with artists in Cuba is a meaningful way to engage interested persons in the art and history of Cuba, and in contemporary Cuban society in Cuba and outside.

 

STUDIO AND VISUAL ARTS PROGRAM

Through a partnership with the New York-based nanprofit chashama, CAF has arranged for a limited number of artsits studios avilable for periods of up to six months and nominal costs.

Artsits residencies are also available with the Vermont Studio Center for up to one month.

SYMPOSIUM/ LECTURES/FORUMS

CAF hosts symposia from time to time to promote dialogue amongst arts leaders in Cuba and in the United States It also sponsors lectures, forums, and speakers on an ad hoc basis.
